I think it's very easy to forget that when we're starting out again. It's way too easy to want to do things that we wouldn't normally do in order to please someone and make them happy. And yes, sometimes concessions are good. We seek a relationship to have a partner, to have someone to walk or run through life with us and that requires giving and taking. Sometimes, what we do for them can be a great adventure for us, allowing us to do things we might never have been brave enough to do alone. Just don't give up the essence of who we are to make someone else happy!
