For some time now I have been told by many that I should try on line dating. Though, I find nothing strange about this I just felt it was not right for me. Curiousity got the best of me and I took the plunge about 3 months ago. I am not quite sure how I feel about the whole thing...It seems that some of my "matches" were really no matches at all. Just by the information in the profiles, I felt we had very little in common. Sometimes a week or more would go by without any new matches at all (gee...my expectations must be really high or do I really have nothing in common with the men out there?)...Then I made a connection with a match, we emailed, spoke on the phone and decided to meet. He was basically the initiator. Though I felt a connection, I would have liked to continue to communicate by phone a while longer before meeting. Don't get me wrong, we had a wonderful time but, I should have insisted. With a second match he also wanted a face to face meeting quicker than I felt was approperiate. We had a good time talking on the phone and e mailing but, I felt we needed to get to know eachother better. Though we exchanged a lot of information, pictures, etc...these things take time. He basically didn't like my response to wait and then changed his tune. What's the rush? These things take time. I know we are older, but what's the hurry? I hear all these wonderful, positive stories about on line dating but, I am sorry to say that mine have been nothing close to that...
